A. Conceptualised by X-Change Republic, Run Free is a run that is FREE for all. More details can be found here.

Q2. How does it work?


Step 1: Register for Run Free at no cost - Completely Free

Step 2: Upon registration, you will be given the option to purchase any Run Free Merchandise to enhance your race experience. (Optional) 

Step 3: Receive a confirmation slip upon successful registration - You are now a Run Free Participant!

Q3. Will we be shortchanged as the race is free?

A. Participants can rest assure that there will be proper welfare given as per normal race - medical and hydration points within the race route.

Q4. When and where will Run Free be held?

Time: 07:00AM to 12:00PM
Venue: Gardens by the Bay, Bay East Garden

Q5. How many race categories are there?

A. There will be 2 race categories: 5KM & 10KM. Find out more here.

Q5. What is the flag-off time?

A. Flag off time is at 07:15AM for the 10KM Category and 08:00AM for the 5KM Category.

Q7. Since the run is free, would the runners receive any entitlements?

A. All runners will receive a race bib for accountability and safety reasons. Note that for Race Bib add-on, a timing chip is included within.

Q8. Is it a competitive race?

A. No, it is not a competitive race. However, should you wish to have your timing recorded, you may opt to purchase the Race Bib + Timing Chip.

Q9. How can I register?

A. You may register for Run Free online here.

Q10. How much is the registration fee?

A. It is completely free to take part in Run Free, charges are only applicable should you wish to purchase any Run Free Merchandise.

Q11. Is there a age limit to participate in Run Free?

A. There is no age limit. Participants aged 12 years old and below will be required to fill up the indemnity form found here.

Q12. What is the mode of payment for add-on purchases?

A. Only payment via Stripe is accepted for Run Free Merchandise purchases.

Q13. How do I know if my race registration is successful?

A. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful registration; do check your junk/spam folder. If still not available, kindly write in to info@runfree.run to request for a resend of confirmation slip.

Q14. Is my Race slot transferrable?

A. No, Participants are strictly not allowed to transfer their race entries to another party.

Q15. Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after registration?

A. No, Run Free Merchandise purchased is strictly non-refundable.

Q16. Is GST included in the add-on purchases?

A. Yes, the 7% GST is included within the price stated.

Q17. When is the closing date for registration?

A. Walk in registrations are not accepted on the race day itself. Take note that prices for any form of add-ons will be higher than the previous rates in the e-store.

Q18. Can I make changes to my personal particulars after submitting my registration?

A. Yes, Participants can send an email to info@runfree.run or submit the contact us form here, to request for changes to be made. 

Q19. Can I request to change the apparel sizes that I have selected after the submission and confirmation of my registration details?

A. Yes, for changing of apparel sizes, participants can either email to info@runfree.run or submit the contact us form here, to request for changes to be made.

Race Pack Collection


Yes, all registered participants are strongly encouraged to attend the REPC in order to collect a Race Bib. This is to ensure that all runners present are registered participants. By having an accountability for our runners, safety aspects are also covered.

Q21. Is it possible to collect the race bib on the event day?

It is possible, however we strongly discourage it due to a possibility of delays and confusion which may arise from the large number of participants rushing to collect the race bibs.

Q22. When and where is the Race Pack Collection going to be held?

Date: 29th to 30th April
Time: 10am to 8pm
Location: Novena Velocity, Atrium outside KFC (238 Thomson Road, Singapore 307683)

Q23. Can my friend collect my race pack on my behalf?

A. Yes, you may authorize a representative to collect on your behalf.
Your representative must product the following for collection:
1. A Photocopy of NRIC or photo ID for verification purposes (digital photo is acceptable)
2. A copy of the race confirmation email/slip (digital photo is acceptable)
3. Letter of Authorisation (click here to download - digital photo of signed copy is acceptable)

Q24. What do I need to bring for the Race Pack Collection for a smooth collection?

Your Photo Identification or NRIC

Q25. I missed the REpc, am i still able to collect my entitlements/racebib?

You may collect your entitlements/racebibs at our office this Saturday, 6th of May at 65 Ubi Road 1, Oxley Bizhub 1 #02-80, Singapore 408729 from 9am to 3pm, or on the event day via our information counter.

Event Day

Q26. Would the timing be recorded based on Gun Time or Nett Time?

A. Timing will be recorded based on the “Gun Time” and "Nett Time". 

Q27. What is the Cut off timing for both race categories?

5KM Race Category: 2hrs
10KM Race Category: 3hrs

Q28. What time should I arrive on the event day?

A. Do come 30-60 minutes in advance for smooth process should you have opted for the baggage deposit service, before your allocated flag-off time.

Q29. What is the recommended attire on the Race Day?

A. Proper running attire and shoes.

Q30. Will there be baggage deposit service available?

A. Baggage deposit will only be made available to runners who opt to purchase the add-on baggage deposit service. Runners are encouraged to arrive early to deposit their bags and avoid any delay as a queue is expected. *Security will be enforced at the event. However, do note that Race Organisers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage of items. Participants who choose to use this service may do so at their own risk.

Q31. Will there be an official photographer?

A. Yes, Photography and/or videography will be taken during the event for news and publicity purposes by the official photographer/s and/or videographer/s. The Organisers owns all rights to the photographs and video recordings.

Q32. Am I allowed to bring my camera or mobile phone into the race?

A. Yes. However, we strongly advise you to be extra careful with your devices.

Q33. What if I get hurt during the race?

A. Should you injure yourself during the run, notify the race marshals. Immediate action will be taken to ensure you get the appropriate medical attention.

Q34. What happens if it rains during the event?

A. If it rains, the event may continue. In event of lightning risk, runners who are on route will be diverted by the race marshals to nearby sheltered areas. For the safety and well being of all runners, the Organisers may decide to call off the race in view of bad weather.

Q35. Will I be refunded if the race is called off due to bad weather, etc.?

A. If the race has to be cancelled, there will be no refund of any payment made related to the event. This is stated under the rules and regulations.

A. Yes, you may purchase Run Free Merchandise without having to register as a participant of Run Free. 

Q39. Is it compulsory to purchase Run Free Merchandise?

A. No, it is not compulsory to purchase run free merchandise.

Q40. how do i collect the merchandises that i have purchased?

A. Add-ons will be available for collection on Run Free Race Pack Collection Day and/or Event Day.
